Uniloc Sues Adobe, Symantec, Others




Irvine-based Uniloc USA the technology firm which filed suit against Sony America, McAfee, Activision, Quark, Aspyr Media, and Borland Software in July over its patents, is ramping up its patent lawsuits, saying today that it has filed suit against Adobe Systems Inc., Symantec Corporation, Pinnacle Systems, Inc., Aladdin Knowledge Systems, Inc., Aladdin Knowledge Systems, Ltd., National Instruments Corporation, Pervasive Software, Inc., CA Technologies, Sonic Solutions, Onyx Graphics, Inc., and SafeNet. The firm is alleging that those firms violated its patent for anti-piracy product activation. The firm said it filed the suit in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, Tyler Division, which is a common location for patent infringement lawsuits.
