VC Fundraising Down Drastically In Q3

A new report on the venture capital market was released Monday from Thomson Reuters and the National Venture Capital association, and finds that venture capital fundraising has dropped to $1.6 billion in Q3, with only 17 venture capital funds raising money. The NVCA and Thomson Reuters said that the results are the smallest number of venture capital fund raising money in a single quarter, since the third quarter of 1994. The amount raise is the lowest since Q1 of 2003, when only $938M was raised. According to the report, the largest fund raised was for Khosla Ventures III, worth $750M, followed by Draper Fisher Jurvetson X, worth $196M.
