Virgin Galactic In Deal With NASA For Trips To ISS

Mojave-based Virgin Galactic, which is developing spacecraft for launching humans to space, has inked a deal with NASA, to conduct orbital human spaceflight to the International Space Station (ISS). According to Virgin Galactic, under the agreement, the company will develop a new private orbital astronaut readiness program. This program will include identifying candidates interested in purchasing private astronaut missions to the ISS, the procurement of transportation to the ISS, on-orbit resources, and ground resources. Financial details of the partnership were not announced. Virgin Galacti said the deal will not only allow the company to use its spaceflight platform, but also offer its space training infrastructure to NASA and other agencies. Virgin Galactic is led by CEO George Whitesides.
