Virgin Galactic Launches First Paying Tourists Into Space

Mojave-based Virgin Galactic has launched its second official, commercial space tourism flight, sending three, paying customers to space on Thursday morning. The customers are the first paying tourists for the company. The customers included former Olympian Jon Goodwin, Keisha Schahaff and Anastatia Mayers. The three traveled up beyond 80 kilometers, or 262,000 feet above the Earth's surface, which is the boundary generally accepted as the boundary of space.
