Astute Networks Rolls Out Blade Storage Product
San Diego-based Astute Networks, a provider of storage blades, said Thursday that the firm has announced availability of a bladed storage product for the ATCA Market. The firm said its new Caspian R1100 Edge Storage Blade is targeted at the communications and media industry. The blade storage product supports the iSCSI Ethernet based storage protocol and up to 4 SAS or SATA drives. In addition, Astute said it has partnered with Sun Microsystems to demonstrate a solution that combines MySQL, SUn's Netra ATCA server chassis, and Astute Networks' storage blades. Astute Networks is venture backed by Tallwood Venture Capital, Sevin Rosen Funds, Scale Venture Partners, KeyNote Ventures, and U.S. Venture Partners.
