AT&T Ramps Artificial Intelligence Efforts
AT&T--which has been ramping its operations and presence in the tech world in Los Angeles--said today that it is unveiling a new artificial intelligence (AI) platform called Acumos. The new, open-source platform is aimed at enabling programmers and researchers to more easily develop machine learning and AI software. The new toolset put AT&T against such companies as Google, Amazon, and Microsoft, who also offer up machine learning and AI development tools based on their own code stacks. According to AT&T, the new software is a collaboration with Tech Mahindra, and will be hosted by The Linux Foundation. AT&T explained that Acumos is an extensible framework for machine learning solutions, with the capability to edit, integrate, compose, package, train and deploy AI microservices.
