Ayannah Raises New Funding
Ayannah, a provider of mobile payment and commerce services for unbanked consumers in emerging markets, has raised new funding, the company said Friday. The company, which has its U.S. headquarters in Laguna Hills, said the funding came from Siemer Ventures, Golden Gate Ventures, as well as angels from the US, Russia, and the Philippines. Ayannah said that Eric Manlunas, a Managing Partner at Siemer Ventures, has joined the company's board with the funding. Ayannah is headed by Mikko Perez, and operates a service called Sendah, which lets immigrants send gift cards, electronics products, food, and even medicine to their relatives overseas. Ayannah's Phillipine site, Sendahpinoy, even lets immigrants send their overseas relatives common, generic prescription medicines--checked by a pharmacist against a local prescription in the Phillipines.
