Belkin Ships Wireless USB Hub
Compton-based Belkin, a manufacturer of computer accessories, announced a new, wireless USB Hub that provides USB access to devices without requiring a cable. The new hardware allows for standard USB access to devices such as printers, scanners, hard drives, and MP3 players through ultrawideband connectivity. Belkin is tapping technology from Freescale for the UWB access. The firm said at CES that it will begin offering a four port hub early this year providing the USB access. Freescale's UWB technology competes against the Bluetooth wireless standard.
