Beyond Limits Snags Former VC, Investor As COO
Glendale-based Beyond Limits, a venture-backed developer of artificial intelligence software, has named Meghan Sharp, Ph.D., the former Managing Director of BP Ventures/Americas, as its new Chief Operating Officer (COO). Sharp most recently led BP Ventures/Americas investment in Beyond Limits in 2017, leading the company's $25M Series B funding round and joining its board. As part of the transition, Beyond Limits said Sharp's seat on the board been filled by BP's VP of Business Development, David Gilmour. Sharp had been at BP's venture arm for the last nine years; the company said Sharp helped BP's investment portfolio of over $600 million with investments into more than 50 companies. Beyond Limits was founded in 2014, and pulls from technology developed at Caltech and NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory. The company is headed by CEO AJ Abdallat.
