BEZALEL Launches Crowdfunding Effort For Wireless Charging Case
Playa Vista-based BEZALEL, one of the companies to emerge out of the USC Viterbi Startup Garage, said this week that it has launched a new, Kickstarter campaign to fund production of its universal, wireless charging case for the iPhone. According to Bezalel, its case allows the iPhone to be charged using Qi and PMA wireless charging stations, the types of wireless chargers being deployed at Starbucks, Delta Airlines, McDonald's and in Toyota and GM cars. The company said the campaign runs until December 15th, and that the company will have the first 400 pre-orders on Kickstarter manufactured and delivered in time for Christmas. When asked about the extremely tight turnaround between the close of the crowdfunding and deliver, a representative for the company said that the first 400 units are actually already on track to be delivered before Christmas, and that the product already has been fully developed. Bezel is led by Frank Wu; the company had raised $800,000 from investors as of its graduation from the Viterbi Startup Garage in February.
