Bird Rolls Out New, Foldable Scooter For Purchase

Santa Monica-based on-demand scooter rental provider Bird has rolled out a new, more affordable foldable scooter for those who would prefer to purchase, rather than rent, its scooters. The new scooter, called the Bird Air is now available at Target, and costs only $599.99. Bird said the new scooter was designed by its own in-house team of aerospace and automotive engineers. The new device includes a regenerative braking systems, "stow and go" design, "never-flat" tires, along with other features. Bird says the new scooter has a top speed of 16 mph and range of up to 16 miles. The scooter is available now at Target, with plans to launch the new scooter internationally in November.
