BlackLine Expands In Japan
Los Angeles-based accounting software developer BlackLine, which has been in expansion mode with its financial automation software, is growing again, with a new joint venture in Japan. According to BlackLine, it has created a subsidiary in Tokyo, where it will help companies in Japan with their automation of their accounting and financial operations. The new joint subsidiary, Blackline K.K., is a joint venture between BlackLine and Japan Cloud, a Tokyo firm which provides professional services to help U.S. businesses in the Japanese market. Financial details of that joint venture were not announced. Japan is notoriously difficult for non-Japanese companies to navigate, and it's not unusual for tech companies expanding into the country to partner with local companies for their efforts; Japan Cloud has similarly launched joint ventures for Salesforce.com, Concur, Marketo, Kyriba, New Relic, Demandware, plus Oracle Japan, according to the companies.
