Blizzard Warcraft Hits Two Million Subscribers
In a endorsement of the enormous popularity of online, subscription-based massively multiplayer role playing games (MMORPG), Irvine-based Blizzard Entertainment said that it just reached two million paying subscribers for its World of Warcraft online game. World of Warcraft provides an online world that allows users to interact, build up characters, and battle monsters in a fantasy setting. Blizzard said that World of Warcraft is the largest massively multiplayer online game in North America, Australia, New Zealand, and Europe. The company also just launched the game in China. Blizzard Entertainment is a division of Vivendi Universal.
