Boingo Expands In Europe
Boingo Wireless, the Los Angeles-based Wi-Fi network operator, is expanding in Europe today, saying it has inked a network access deal with GOWEX. According to Boingo, the new partnership adds hotspots in Barcelona, Madrid, Paris, and more. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed. Boingo said the deal adds 1,400 additional hotspots to its network, across more than 50 cities throughout Spain, France, Ireland and Belgium. The deal also includes access on more than 40 buses in Barcelona, and 50 metro and railway stations in Paris. Boingo operates an international Wi-Fi hotspot network, which allows members of Boingo's services to access the Internet through a single, unified billing plan; the firm also provides its network services to partners such as KT, LGU +, NTT DOCOMO, Skype, and Verizon.
