Boingo Scores Win With Dubai Airports
Los Angeles-based Wi-Fi networking provider Boingo Wireless is in another big airport Wi-Fi access deal, reporting this morning that it has scored a win with Dubai Airports to supply Wi-Fi at both Dubai International (DXB) and Al Maktoum International at Dubai World Central (DWC). Financial details of the win were not disclosed. BOingo said it will be the exclusive Wi-Fi provider at both airports, providing ad-supported Wi-Fi at the two airports. Boingo said the two airports serve a total of more than 66 million travelers a year. Boingo will also manage Wi-Fi advertising sales and support at the airports. Boingo said it will also open up an office in Dubai to service the airports. As is usual with Boingo's deals, the move also gives Boingo's many partners--including AT&T, Skype, Verizon, Korea Telecom, LGU+, NTT DOCOMO, Orange France, Telefonica and TeliaSonera--a local access point for their own customers.
