Broadcom Debuts New Processor Line
Irvine-based Broadcom announced this morning that it has debuted a new line of processors, aimed at classification, forwarding, and security applications in networking equipment. The firm's new NLA12000 Series, a 28 nanometer device, is aimed at 3G/4G mobile infrastructure, data center and enterprise environments. The new "knowledge processor" is used for layer 2-4 processing in networks, for use in switches, service gateways, security appliances and mobile infrastructure equipment. Broadcom said the new product is sampling now, with production expected in the first half of 2013.
