Call of Duty League Inks Twitter, US Army As Sponsors
The Call Of Duty League, the e-sports league that has formed around Activision's Call Of Duty title, has signed agreeements with both Twitter and the U.S. Army fo its inagural season, the sports league said last week. Details of the sponsorship were not announced. According to The Call Of Duty League, Twitter will be the source for Call of Duty League highlights and community engagement throughout the next three seasons, and it will use Twitter's products for fan predictions and "cheering". The U.S. Army deal includes a special segment called "Tactical Play" where on-air analysts will review highlights from League matches, and there will also be walk-up-and-play opportunities at some events; the two also said the U.S. Army will also be the presenting sponsor of a forthcoming collegiate duos competition tournament series.
