Ceres Gets Soybean Gene Patent
Thousand Oaks-based agricultural biotechnology develper Ceres announced this morning that it has received a U.S. patent, covering the company's genetic sequence derived from soybean, which is aimed at producing improved soybean varieties. The company says it now has approximately 85 issued patents and numerous patent applications. The new patent, U.S. Patent No. 9,024,004, was issued on May 5th, and names Nickolai Alexandrov, Vyacheslav Brover, and Kenneth Feldmann as inventors, and was filed in October of 2014. The company was represented by Fish & Richardson P.C. in the patent filing.
