ChromaCode Collects $28M
Carlsbad-based molecular diagnostics developer ChromaCode has raised $28M in a Series C funding, the company announced this morning, in a funding led by Northpond Ventures. The new funding round also included Windham Ventures, Moore Venture Partners the California Institute of Technology, plus New Enterprise Associates (NEA), Domain Associates and Okapi Ventures. As part of the funding round, ChromaCode said that Pat Smerkers of Northpond has joined the company's board. ChromaCode is using digital signal processing for its molecular diagnostics products, to improve Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) techniques to extract information for biochemistry.
