Classy: We've Hit $1 Billion In Donations
San Diego-based online nonprofit fundraising software developer Classy said this morning that it has just hit $1 billion in total donations through its platform. According to Classy, the milestone represents more than 10 million donations from over 190 countries to the nonprofits on its platform. Classy was launched in 2011, and is led by CEO and co-founder Scot Chisholm. Classy develops software-as-a-service products aimed at helping nonprofits manage their online fundraising, with a focus on social causes like environmental issues, child trafficking, human rights, and animal rights. The company says it has been focused on helping nonprofits convert one-time donors into recurring donors, who automatically give a set amount to nonprofits each month; Classy said those recurring donors are five times more valuable than one-time donors.
