CrownPeak Upgrades CMS Software
Los Angeles-based CrownPeak has released a major upgrade to the firm's web-based, software-as-a-service for content management, the company said earlier this week. According to CrownPeak, the firm's software now allows web developers to use any development tool to work with its templates and software, a file manager, and a web analytics feature for studying traffic to web sites using the software. Among the changes, the software now can automatically connect with tools like Visual Studio, Eclipse, or Dreamweaver using a web services connection. The upgrades also include a new web analytics tool which show real time traffic to the site, individual session histories of visitors, a map mashup of where visitors are coming from, and more. Crownpeak's software is used to allow companies to manage their web sites; the firm is venture backed by SunAmerica Ventures, Sigma Partners, and Altos Ventures.
