D-Link Expands Mesh Networking Line
Fountain Valley-based D-Link said this morning that it has rolled out a new generation of its Wi-Fi mesh networking products, its Covr whole home Wi-Fi product. According to D-Link, it has rolled out a 3-pack Dual-Band Whole Home Wi-Fi System (COVR-C1203), which allows its customers to "blanket every square inch" of a home with Wi-Fi coverage. The new system uses what is called "mesh networking"--multiple devices which send traffic to each other--to overcome limitations in Wi-Fi coverage, whether the size of a home or barriers such as brick walls. D-Link said its new systems covers up to 5,000 square feet. The new devices also include "swappable color plates" so users can color coordinate the system with their home's decor. The new 3-pack of devices costs $249.99.
