Dealstruck Looks To Crowdsource Business Loans
In a new twist on the crowdfunding space, a new startup, Dealstruck, said it has launched a new service to help small businesses find business loans from investors. The San Diego startup, which is headed by Ethan Senturia and was co-founded by Russell McLoughlin, said it is aiming at businesses seeking expansion capital, and helping them connect with accredited investors. The startup said it is looking for businesses seeking $50,000 to $1M in capital, and is matching those businesses with secured, commercial loans. Dealstruck was one of the firms in the San Diego Tech Coast Angel's 2012 Quick Pitch competition, as well as the TCA's 2012 PitchFest, winning the "Best Pitch Award" at the Quick Pitch. The company said it has already raised $1.5M in lending capital from individual accredited investors. Names of those investors were not disclosed.
