DTS Links Into Microsoft Azure Cloud
Calabasas-based audio processing technology developer DTS is linking into Microsoft's cloud computing service, Microsoft Azure, according to the company. According to DTS, its content encoding technology will be available via the cloud through Microsoft Azure's Media Encoder Premium service. The link means that streaming services can use the cloud to output DTS surround sound content in 4K Ultra HD on the XBOX One, Samsung TVs, and other platforms. DTS did not say how much the cloud-based encoding will cost for customers.
