DTS Play-Fi Gets iOS Support
Play-Fi, the wireless speaker line from Calabasas-based audio processing developer DTS, has added compatibility with iOS devices, the company announced Thursday. According to DTS, its wireless audio streaming product now provides support for iOS, Android, and Windows PCs, using standard, Wi-Fi signals. DTS acquired the wireless streaming technology behind Play-Fi last year, when it acquired audio products developer Phorus. DTS has since been looking to license that technology to consumer electronics manufacturers, to build their own, wireless audio streaming devices. DTS said DTS Play-Fi is the first "licensable" whole-home audio technology with support for all of those platforms. DTS has shipped an iOS app which supports access to existing, Play-Fi speakers.
