EDF Renewables Wins Wind Project Deal With Tucson Electric

San Diego-based renewable energy developer EDF Renewables North America reported a win on Thursday, with Tucson Electric Power (TEP). According to EDF Renewables, it will build a 247.4 megawatt wind project, the Oso Grande Wind Project, in southeaster New Mexico, for TEP. Financial details of the win were not announced. According to the company, the project includes 61 wind turbines, and will be TEP's largest renewable energy resource. The wind turbines are expected to be in full operation by the end of 2020. The project is expected to generate enough energy to meet the needs of nearly 100,000 homes, and will help the utility avoid nearly 688,000 metric tons of carbon (CO2) emissions annually.
