eSolar Links With Southern California Edison On Solar Power Plant
Pasadena-based eSolar, the Idealab firm focused on commercial solar electricity, is in a deal with Southern California Edison to build 245MW worth of solar plants in the Antelope Valley. According to eSolar, the deal calls for it to deploy a number of concentrating solar plants in the region with production slated for 2011. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. eSolar recently raised $130M in venture funding from Idealab, Google's nonprofit arm, Google.org, and Oak Investment Partners for its utility-scale solar technology.
