FastSoft Acquired By Akamai
Pasadena-based FastSoft, the developer of Internet acceleration appliances, has been acquired by Akamai, Akamai said Thursday afternoon. Financial terms of the cash buy were not disclosed. FastSoft's technology is based out of Caltech, and was originally developed to accelerate traffic on the next generation Internet, Internet2. Akamai said the buy will help it enhance rich media delivery, as well as in mobile applications and the cloud. FastSoft was venture backed by Miramar Venture Partners, Caltech, ICCP Venture Partners, and others.
