Fluid Media Networks Acquires Trusonic
Los Angeles-based Fluid Media Networks said Thursday that it has acquired Trusonic, Inc., a provider of point-of-sale music distribution based in La Jolla, California. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. Trusonic's products are used by retailers to control the broadcast of music in their retail locations, via an Internet-based hardware platform. Trusonic was originally a unit of MP3.com. Fluid Media Networks said that Trusonic will continue to operate in La Jolla as a wholly owned subsidiary of the firm, and that Trusonic's management team will remain in place. Fluid Media networks was formerly known as Fluid Audio Networks, and runs American Idol Underground.
