Fourth Time A Charm? SpaceX Aims At Friday Launch
Hawthorne-based SpaceX is hoping the fourth time is the charm, with plans to attempt yet another launch of its SES-9 mission on Friday afternoon. SpaceX, which scrubbed the third attempt at a launch earlier this week due to a combined alarm and incursion of a boat into the launch area at Cape Canaveral, is hoping to finally launch its Falcon-9 at 6:35 p.m. EST. NASA and SPACEX are webcasting the launch. SpaceX said it is watching upper level winds to determine whether or not the launch will go off, with the launch window extending until 8:06pm ET. SpaceX is expected to attempt another landing the first stage of the Falcon-9 on its ocean barge during the launch; it has already successfully landed the Falcon-9 on land, but has been struggling to completely land the Falcon-9 on its floating platform.
