Frost Data's Maana Finds $26M For Big Data, From Big Oil
Maana, a startup developing big data analytics software--which is backed by San Juan Capistrano-based Frost Data--has raised $26M in a Series B strategic funding round from a host of big oil companies. According to Maana, the strategic funding was led by Saudi Aramco Energy Ventures, and also included Shell Technology Ventures, GE Ventures, Chevron Technology Ventures, Intel Capital, along with Frost Data Capital. Maana has now raised $40M in funding. Dhiraj Malkani of Saudi Aramco Energy Ventures and Andy Fligel of Intel Capital, will both join the board, with Carl Stjernfeldt of Shell joining as an observer.
