Gizmo Ties Into LiveJournal
San Diego-based SIPphone, and Six Apart, maker of the popular blogging software MovableType and online blog community LiveJournal, said Wednesday that they connect their instant messaging, voice, and presence services. SIPphone's Gizmo internet calling software and Six Apart's LiveJournal tool will enable LiveJournal users to call each other, see presence information, and send instant messages, and will be co-branded by the two companies. LJ Talk is LiveJournal's new instant messaging and voice service, and was shipped Wednesday in conjunction with LiveJournal's own Jabber instant messaging server. The Gizmo Project for LJ Talk software works on Windows, Macintosh, and Linux operating systems, and will be available on the LiveJournal site in August.
