Glaukos Starts Commercial Sales Of New Device In Canada
Laguna-based opthalmic device maker Glaukos said today that it has begun direct sales and commercial launch in Canada of its newiStent inject Trabecular Micro-Bypass Stent devices. The devices, which are used to treat glaucoma, had already been approved by Health Canada. Glaukos said its stent has been approved for patients diagnosed with primary open-angle glaucoma, pseudoexfoliative glaucoma or pigmentary glaucoma, and may be used in combination with cataract surgery or in a standalone procedure. Glaukos has been selling a prior version of the device in Canada since 2009.
