Gobbler Links With Cloud Storage Firm Box
Los Angeles-based Gobbler, the online, cloud-based backup and collaboration startup headed by Chris Kantrowitz, said this week that it has tied together its platform with online storage provider Box. The company said that they will link Box's content sharing tools with Gobbler's infrastructure, to specifically address the needs of media creators. Gobbler's software is aimed at media creators, letting them store, collaborate, and share their projects via cloud-based storage. The two firms said the move will allow Gobbler to scan and locate local workstations for documents, for upload to the Box storage service, and that files stored from Gobbler's own cloud will also appear on Box accounts. Separately, Gobbler also said that artist John Legend has joined the firm's board. Gobbler is venture backed by ff Venture Capital, Black Ocean Group, Mike Jones, Matt Coffin, along with a number of other angels.
