Goldstar Adds Coffin, Moriarty, Harris As Advisors
Los Angeles-based Goldstar, the half price ticketing and event promotion service, has tapped Matt Coffin, Sean Moriarty, and Neil Patrick Harris as advisors, the company said Tuesday. Coffin is the former founder of LowerMyBills.com, and is now an investor in such firms as Demand Media, Houtelook, Ad.ly, ShoeDazzle, and other startups. Moriarty is the former President and CEO of Ticketmaster, and is currently an Entrepreneur-in-Residence at Mayfield Fund, and was also an executive at Citysearch, and board member at Points.com and iLike. Harris is an actor, director, producer and host, and is currently Barney Stinson in CBS's "How I Met Your Mother", and might be known to many as the actor who played Doogie Howser, MD in the show of the same name. Goldstar is headed by Jim McCarthy. The company offers up half-price tickets and other promotions on events, helping venues to fill up seats and get the word out about upcoming events.
