Greenwings Biomedical Launches Incubator

A new, Los Angeles startup incubator, Greenwings Biomedical, announced its launch Friday, saying that it will be the first incubator of biomedical ventures in Los Angeles. The new startup, headed by startup veteran Richard Koffler, said it will focus on biomedical devices and software. The incubator explained it will license intellectual property from universities and corporations, and partner with individual inventors for its companies, and is particularly interested in companies based on algorithms and software-based intelligence.

The new incubator's head is Richard Koffler, a local technology executive and angel investor who has been involved recently with Viderics and VAL9000; Koffler was also CEO of Alelo, and is active on the Tech Coast Angels, among other local organizations. The incubator's board includes Kathy Allen, Professor of Entrepreneurship at USC Marshall School of Business; John Morris, of Vistage and an active Tech Coast Angel member; Doug Lane of Applied Integrin Sciences; and Ron Schilling of EchoPixel Technologies.
