GumGum Passes $100M In Annual Revenues Mark

Santa Monica-based GumGum, which is using computer vision in the programmatic advertising market, sports, and social media, said today that it has just passed up the $100M in revenues mark. The company, led by CEO Ophir Tanz, said those revenues represent 53 percent year-over-year growth for the privately held firm. GumGum said its revenues in 2016 were $72M, and it expects to have revenues of nearly $110M in 2017. GumGum's software is used for analyzing visual contents in the social media, publishing, and other areas. In the programmatic advertising market, its software is used for targeting and understanding advertisement tied to images. The company also said it now has 240 employees worldwide, which is a 25 percent increase from 2016.
