Helio Launches Music Service
Los Angeles-based MVNO Helio announced today that it has launched a new mobile music service, as part of its 3G services. The firm said that it is launching a full mobile, over-the-air music download service. The new service will feature artists from Universal Music Group, Warner Music Group, Sony BMG Music Entertainment, and EMI Music. The new service also includes download of music onto PCs. The service will be available for Helio's Drift device, for $1.99 per song via mobile phone, or $0.99 per song for download to PC. Helio says is is approaching 100,000 members of its service, and expects to pass the 100,000 mark by early Q2.
