Homefacts Uncovers Neighborhood Facts, Dirty Laundry
Buying a new home? A new mobile app from Irvine-based Homefacts is helping prospective home buyers uncover neighborhood information like education, median income, school ratings, and more--including such dirty laundry as nearby registered sex offenders, crime, risk of earthquakes and tornadoes--not to mention drug lab locations. Homefacts said its new mobile app for the iPhone--which is free--provides more than 30 different pieces of information for residential properties nationwide. Homefacts--which is part of RealtyTrac--says its app covers over a million U.S. properties. Among other information, which the company said can be used for due diligence, are such wonderful neighbors as underground storage tanks, spills, EPA polluters, brownfields, and superfunds, along with former drug labs, sex offenders, and natural hazard risks.
