HomeMe, Founded By Steelhouse Founder, Takes On Apartment Rentals
Los Angeles-based HomeMe, a new startup founded by Mark Douglas, the CEO and founder of Steelhouse, said today that it has launched into the App Store, and hopes to make it easier for renters to find apartments. The new mobile app lets users enter their financial information--their annual income, credit, background and rental history--and pre-approves those users for apartments they are pre-qualified to rent. According to HomeMe, it is initially launching in the Texas market, covering Houston, and soon will expand to Dallas and Austin, and plans to roll out an Android app in March. Douglas remains the CEO of Steelhouse, an online advertising company which recently said it just surpassed a $130M run rate.
