ICANN Finds .JOBS and .TRAVEL
The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) said last week that two new Top-Level Domains (TLDs) have been approved. The new .JOBS and .TRAVEL domain names were approved by the group, at a recent conference in Mar del Plata Argentina. The approval of the new sponsored domains came as part of proposals for new registries from Employ Media and Tralliance Coroporation. ICANN manages domain name registrations, and said that it is also looking at the TLDs .CAT, .POST, .MOBI, as well as .ASIA, .MAIL, and .TEL. Domain name registration companies have been eager to add new top level domains in order to gain bigger domain registration fees, and companies have been eager for the new domains due to lack of space in the popular .com category.
