Idealab Sells Off Domain For $1M
A UK-based firm running an online price comparison shopping site said today that it has acquired the domain name Top10.com from Pasadena-based Idealab, in a deal worth over $1M. According to the firm which acquired the domain--which is rebranding itself as Top10.com Media Ltd.--the deal was a combination of cash and equity. Top 10 said Idealab has received a 7 percent share in the company as part of the deal, and that Idealab's Bill Gross has joined the firm's advisory board. Top10 said it runs Top 10 Broadband and Top 10 Mobile Phones, which has around 1.5 million UK users a month.
