Illumina Wins $26.7M In Patent infringement Lawsuit Against Ariosa
San Diego-based life sciences equipment maker Illumina has won $26.7M in a patent infringement lawsuit against competitor Ariosa Diagnostics, the company said late last week, after a federal jury in San Francisco ruled in its favor in a patent infringement suit. According to Illumina, the jury found that Riosa Diagnostics' non-invasive, prenatal tests infringe on two patents owned by Illumina. The patents in question in the suit were US Patent 8,318,430 and US Patent 7,955,794. Ariosa is now owned by Roche.
