Impinj Raises $26.5M
Impinj, a Seattle-based fabless semiconductor company which maintains engineering and production offices in Newport Beach, said Friday that it has raised $26.5M in funding for its RFID products. The firm said that the latest round of funding came from GF Private Equity Group LLC, VentureTech Alliance, and existing investors ARCH Venture Partners, Madrona Venture Group, Mobius Venture Capital, Polaris Venture Partners, Unilever Technology Ventures, UPS Strategic Enterprise Fund, and the Viterbi Group. Impinj is developing highly integrated systems on a chip RFID chips and technology targeted at cost effective applications. The company was founded by Caltech's Carver Mead and Dr. Chris Diorio at the University of Washington. More information »
