Inseego Rolls Out New MiFi Hotspot For Sprint
San Diego-based Inseego, the developer of the popular MiFi mobile hotspot devices, has gotten back on track with its release of a new hotspot for Sprint. According to Inseego, its new MiFi 8000 Mobile Hotspot will roll out beginning June 14th to Sprint customers, to provide gigabit-speed performance and enterprise security features. Inseego said the new device supports Gigabit LTE speeds, which it says "vasty outperforms" its earlier 4G devices. The new hotspots supports up to 15 Wi-Fi clients, and works on both 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz. The new product looks to be the first major launch from Inseego of a MiFi device since an aborted attempt to unload the Mi-Fi product line to a Chinese buyer; that effort was called off in 2017 after Inseego (then known as Novatel Wireless) ran into issues with the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United State (CFIUS).
