Iomega Ships Microsoft Storage Server NAS System
San Diego-based Iomega said today that it has updated its network attached storage (NAS) line with a new storage server based on Microsoft's Windows Storage Server 2003. The company's NAS 400r series is targeted at small and medium sized businesses, and uses low cost Serial ATA storage to provide up to 1.6TB of capacity. The storage system features hot-swappable SATA disk drives, RAID integration, Dual Gigabit Ethernet ports, and integration with backup to Iomega REV drive technology. The use of Microsoft's NAS software enables integration with Microsoft client operating systems and support for point in time snapshots using Microsoft Volume Shadow Copy.
