Jam City Snags Two Execs From Machine Zone
Los Angeles-based mobile game developer Jam City has snagged two executives from game developer Machine Zone, the company said this morning, adding two to its executive team. According to Jam City, it has named Nick Pavlich as SVP of Studio Operations, and Chris Ulm as Creative Director of Jam City San Diego, as part of an expansion of its executive ranks. Pavlich was most recently GM at Machine Zone, heading that company's Game of War and Mobile Strike titles; Pavlich also previously had served as VP and Development Director at Activision, overseeing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. Ulm was most recently GM of Machine Zone's San Diego studio. Jam City said Ulm will lead the creative team at Jam City's San Diego studio, overseeing its Cookie Jam franchise. Jam City is led by former MySpace cofounders Chris DeWolfe and Aber Whitcomb, along with former 20th Century Fox executive Josh Yguado; the company says it now has 500 employees.
