KB Home Goes High Tech At New Irvine Development
New home developer KB Home says it is offering a huge set of new, smart home and "personal wellness" technology at a new development in Irvine. According to KB Home, homebuyers as its new development, Genoa at Orchard Hills in Irvine will be able to select from a menu of smart home and personal wellness technologies, which it is showcasing at a concept home called the KB Home ProjeKt: Where Tomorrow Lives. KB Home said the new homes it is building can optionally include such features as energy independence with the Powerwall energy storage and management system provided by Swell Energy; standard, 2Kw SunPower solar power systems; and the "DARWIN Home Wellness Intelligence network" from Delos. The homes also include a Google Assistant-powered smart-home system called the KB Smart Home System. KB Home explained that its DARWIN smart "home wellness technology" includes sensors monitoring air filtration, water purification and "restorative lighting". KB Home's Genoa at Orchard Hills development will have 110 homes, ranging in size from 3,550 to 3,950 square feet, with prices beginning at $1.7M.
