Knowledge Adventure Launches Virtual World
Torrance-based Knowledge Adventure, a publisher of educational software titles, said this morning that it has officially launched its JumpStart virtual world targeted at 3 to 10 year olds. Knowledge Adventure--which opened a beta of the world in December--said the virtual world offers a "completely safe and secure" environment for kids. Knowledge Adventure charges families $7.99 a month for access to the virtual world, which includes such features as avatars, downloadable games, and networking features for parents. The virtual world is the result of a deal with Copenhagen-based Unity Technologies, a developer of game development tools, inked last November.
