MetaMedia Gets Private Equity Investment

Los Angeles-based MetaMedia announced this morning that it has received a "significant" strategic investment from private equity investor Dimensional Asociates. Size of the investment was not announced, however, the company said Dimensional Associates has purchased a controlling interest and recapitalized the company. MetaMedia said it is providing a "global, cloud-based entertainment network", with customers that include Cinemark Theatres, Cinepolis, Marcus Theatres, B&B Theatres, Emagine Entertainment, Landmark Cinemas, CGV Cinemas, Fridley Theatres, Premiere Cinemas, Southern Theatres, TCL Chinese Theatre, CW Theaters and others. As part of the acquisition, Danny Stein, CEO of Dimensional Associates, has become Executive Chairman of MetaMedia.
